Nothing is prefect but WebOS is close

Palm-app-catalog

If you may already know I am a HP WebOS fanboy. I love my Palm Pre 2 along with WebOS. My fullest productivity is limited when trying to mange school and Subject Orange on my Pre 2. I feel very productive with Just Type and the Twitter apps are suburb. The only problem is I need more apps. I don't blame Palm or HP directly I just blame their market-share.

  1. Posterous (Blogging)
  2. Better Maps (Google Maps for WebOS suck balls)
  3. SpringPad (One of my favorite web apps)
  4. Google Docs (Atleast web support like iOS or Android)
  5. Google Voice (I need Google Voice notifications)
  6. Mint and Captial One (Mange my $$$)
  7. Skype (I like Skype)

Not that many apps but they could really improve my productivity on WebOS. Spinka the app I created has improve my productivity but still not where I like. Right now this could be my chance to move to Verizon for better coverage in my area and probably grab an iPhone 4 or one of the Android Phones they have. My Palm Pre 2 will become my dev phone.

What is Subject Orange?

640x480
Subject Orange is a mobile / web development company. This company was founded by me (Terrillo Walls). The description is sweet and simple. I created Subject Orange to express my creativity with mobile app developing and web designing. The company is very small I am the only employee. It's probably will stay that way for the next few months. Only two products,

  1. Spinka which is a HP WebOS app designed to bring many WebApps together to the "Palm" of your hands. The goal is to make WebApps a lot more available to the average and advance WebOS users. Included WebApps: Yahoo Messenger, Facebook, Orkut, Myspace, Myyearbook, Twitter, CNN, Engadget, Espn, Precentral, Webosroundup, Amazon, Paypal, eBay, Bing, Dropbox, Google Translate, Google Task, GMAIL, Yahoo Weather, Google Voice, and Google Docs all in one app!!! This app has been in the Beta Catalog since Feb. 5, 2011. (Twitter)(Facebook) (Spinka Blog)
  2. People of Note app features information about CEOs behind products like Evernote. This current verison features, Tariq Krim of JoliCloud, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebok, Tim Westergren of Pandora, Jimmy Wales of Wikipedia, and Phil Libin of Evernote. People of Note can be found on Android and Webos

Subject Orange: Facebook, Twitter, Website, Blog

HP your turn on new #webos hardware.

Hp_announced_hp_pre_3_webos_mo

After looking at the HP Think Beyond event and the feel of WebOS community afterwards. The Pre3, Veer, and Touchpad all feel like Palm products instead of HP products. From the time HP purchase Palm to the HP event I don't think that was enough time for HP to create their own products. They just put their name on Palm already designed products.
The Pre's form factor is a good one but many more still can be explored. I hope HP comes around and produce a lot of different devices. I hope HP is working on touchscreen only phones with big and small sizes, the Pixi / Blackberry form factor, and how about a phone with a landscape keyboard as well. That could be a line of three new WebOS devices bringing new people to the platform.
If the HP Pre3 and Veer were both completely designed by HP I doubt these new form factors are coming soon because I believe HP would've atleast made a phone with a full touchscreen for a HP style of direct competition. Palm didn't design one because they wanted to stay with keyboard only phones which are fine but not all phones have to be.

I finally tried MobiOS for #webos

Mobios_2011-06-02_152048

A lot of people have been comparing my WebOS app Spinka (blog) (twitter) to MobiOS. @Ceveret3 submitted feedback to our form. He post: "have u heard of MobiOS? you can get it throw preware. i would like if more of that was in spinka" Before making Spinka and adding the last update I have not tired MobiOS. I used it today and I have to say the new update of Spinka has what people wanted from MobiOS. Spinka allows users to open webApps inside the app and in a new card were MobiOS only open webapps in a new card. And more WebApps are coming. Thank you everyone for your feedback on having the ability to open a WebApp in another card like MobiOS.
